‘Bush Dance’ was painted at the end of Summer after bush fires had ravaged Australia, the leafless branches reaching out for the sky, the evidence of bush fire damage unmistakably present. During lockdown last year I relied on bush walks to stay sane, took sketches en plein air to create this painting. The branches reaching skyward, reaching out in troubled times.
This painting is a finalist in the Grey Cube gallery ‘Seasons’ exhibition, May 2021.
